Uplink is an integration for messaging platforms (e.g. Slack) that allows users to exchange messages across different platforms and between isolated workspaces within the same platform.
The purpose of this service is to connect people across messaging platforms and to let them communicate in a messaging-like manner without the need to be co-located on the same platform or workspace.
We operate Uplink by professional standards and do our best to provide a high service availability. However, as long as you consume Uplink for free, we do not give any guarantee on service availability and preserve the right to permanently shut down the service at any given moment and without warning.
Message exchange between platforms is an instance of a highly distributed system. It's the nature of such systems to suffer from issues like connection problems, network partitioning and race-conditions.
As messaging platforms typically don't provide mechanism to mitigate such issues across service boundaries, we can't guarantee that all messages are delivered and when delivered, to be delivered in the exact same form as authored.
We put high standards on ourselves when it comes to security. We only store sensitive data when really required and protect it with strong encryption during transportation and storage.
Nevertheless, absolute security does not exist. While we always act according to our best knowledge, we are only liable for data loss caused intentionally or by gross negligence unless a law explicitly demands liability for slight negligence.
Using this service for any other purpose than the one stated under Provided Service or using this service in a non-reasonable way can lead to an immediate exclusion from the service.
This includes in particular:
To automatically enforce fair usage, we define limits and usage quotas for specific functionality. When you exceed a usage quota, you will be blocked from using related functionality for a specific time.
Usage quotas are chosen in a way that you should never exceed them when using this service as intended. Regularly exceeding a quota can therefore be reason enough for us to exclude you from the service without prior warning. Should you exceed a quota while acting in good faith then please contact our support and explain your use-case.
We are generally only liable for damage that we caused intentionally or by gross negligence unless a law explicitly demands liability for slight negligence.
We are explicitly not liable for issues of any kind caused by messaging platforms (e.g. Slack) or by incompatibilities between our service and such platforms.
